With what emotions are you filling the Goblet of Possibility?
Moon is our steadfast witness. She cycles through her phases, sometimes new, dark, and mysterious. Sometimes Moon is full and bright, a beacon. Then, there are the in between stages in which Moon presents as a crescent, a cup. That is Moon as the Goblet of Possibility.
“Goblet” is a beautiful word with origins in the distant past of Northern Europe. It originally referred to a hand-hewn drinking vessel made from a hardwood burl, used in ceremony.
A burl is a rounded outgrowth created by a tree, filled with small knots from dormant buds. To make a Goblet from a burl is to unlock that pent up potential for growth.
The Goblet — when filled with the Waters of our emotions and consciousness — provides us with a container for creating, a container that supports our growth.
