How will you answer The Call to be of service?

“To be of service” means to see a need in your family, your community, or in the world and then act to address that need. It means to think of someone besides yourself.

Our community members in the military are being of service as they dedicate their lives to the protection of this nation. That is their service.

People who work in jobs that are dangerous are being of service. Cleaning staff at hospitals, nurses, physical therapists, and doctors are all being of service.

The people who protest for social justice are being of service — as are the police who ensure the protestors’ constitutional right to freedom of assembly.

The person who safely pulls over to lend a hand to a turtle trying to cross a busy road is being of service.

How will you answer the call to be of service today?
