How do you use sentience, the intelligence of feeling and emotion, to inform the Flow of all creation and destruction?
Emotion is sometimes inconvenient. It is also so essential to being human that Water is its symbol. Humans are largely made of water and water is more necessary to our survival than food.
I’ve heard it said that “you shouldn’t believe everything you think.” The corollary is “don’t believe the MAGNITUDE of everything you feel.”
Until we learn to pay closer attention to emotion and use its ebb and flow as fuel for our creative impulses, emotion will continue to show up in amplified and disruptive ways. That’s one reason emotion makes us uncomfortable.
I practice paying attention to subtle emotional states and taking cues from them before they startle me. In this way, I strive to ride the waves of emotion that help fuel my participation in the Flow of all creation and destruction.
