What becomes possible when you are a compassionate witness to change?
Like Moon reflecting upon Water, I am reflecting upon my practice of self-cultivation. I am motivated by opportunities to learn and grow.
Three years ago, we bought a house with “good bones” but in desperate need of repair. My husband is not a carpenter and neither am I. We learned. We studied and worked and asked for help from family and friends. We hired experts, where necessary. The fact that I was the agent of change in this instance only enhances my curiosity and awareness in answering the question!
I am Water and I am Moon as the Goblet of Possibility, holding un-imagined potential.
When Water is calm and smooth, Moon reflects upon Water, and by the twin lights we are reassured that this well-known path will be without incident.
When change is afoot, our emotional Water is choppy, dynamic, and unpredictable. The predictable path is gone and Moon that I am is my singular guiding light. I am uncomfortable.
The discomfort of change and the rough waters produced reveal both treasures and unexpected obstacles.
Change is a constant. When I become a compassionate Witness, treasures are revealed — even in what feels undesirable.
