What will be different when cultivated emotional intelligence is considered a virtue?

Cultivated emotional intelligence is a uniquely creative intelligence.

Raw, wild, and uncultivated, emotions sometimes feel like they’re happening TO US, as though we are the victims of our emotions. We need not be the victims.

The process of cultivation of emotion is similar to learning to dance the Argentine tango. Each dancer in the pair has steps, moves, and flourishes that must be precisely executed. The music is the guide to channeling emotion that fuels not just the movements but also the coordination between partners.

Each partner is responsible for their independent participation and together they tell a story of life, love, and passion in collaboration.

When we humans come to see cultivated emotional intelligence as a virtue that informs us and our collective consciousness, we will spend more time dancing.
