What awakens in you when you are completely still?

To find stillness within, I sit in a comfortable position and gently exhale as I close my eyes, seeing the things occupying my mind exhaled upon my breath. I inhale and focus my attention on the physical sensations of air entering my nostrils and filling my lungs. I exhale any thought that intervenes. After sufficient repetitions, no thought presents itself and I exhale awareness of sensation. There is the stillness. Rest in it. You are Mountain.

In this open and receptive state, emotion may arise. Observe it. Witness the emotion and make a mental note of the images that accompany it. These are clues to your self-cultivation. Are you seeding, weeding, or harvesting?

Emotions that awaken in me in a state of stillness are bread crumbs to follow.

I am Mountain.
